Dedicated, self-motivated, part-time Instructional Assistant needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville. Modified, year-round school schedule, working about 25 hours per week, does not include benefits.

 

Duties and Responibilities:

• Must maintain positive communication with students and teachers 
• Work cohesively in a team setting 
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff 
• Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system 
• Support grade level teams by carrying out clerical tasks. 
• Assist teachers in organization of materials and classrooms.
• Carry out small groups as needed for grade level teams/ classroom teachers. 
• Communicate with teachers about grade level and classroom needs. 
• Support in classrooms during instruction, as needed, to help students stay engaged and on task. 
• Independently executing said activities.
• Follow the processes laid out in the employee handbook, respond to emails in a timely manner, and ensure timely feedback is given
• Assist in arrival and/or dismissal, as needed. 
• Provide coverage for K-5 classrooms, as needed.
• Provide lunch coverage for 2 classrooms daily.
• Provide recess supervision, as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Skilled in problem solving and decision making as well as observation, listening, and coaching
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Maintain effective working relationships
• Possess strong time management skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment
• Proficiency with GSuite

Education and Experience:

• Minimum High School Diploma 
• 1 year of classroom experience, preferred

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
